M's Pitching Matchup Versus Twins

Jason Vargas takes the hill tonight vs.Carl Pavano. Vargas has a .38 ERA in may and a 1.99 ERA in away games this year. Signs are pointing to the big "W" for Mr. Vargas as long as the M's bats can continue their recent streak vs. the struggling Pavano.

He has a 5.56 ERA in May and has a 2-4 record with a 5.30 ERA in his last 10 starts. On the bright side for Pavano, he is pitching at home where he holds a 1.77 ERA at Target Field. In Pavano's last start he gave up 3 runs, 1 earned without allowing a walk against the Oakland A's.

In the event of a possible pitchers duel, the M's have seen it all this year, from extra innings to blown saves and walk off wins to dropped fly balls. It will be an exciting game as the Twins bring back Jim Thome into their line-up after a stint on the disabled list. M's slugger Jack Cust should be in the line-up tonight as he has a .600 AVG versus Pavano and is back in an American League park. Maybe tonight he will get his first HR.

I'm watching with you tonight M's fans as we inch closer to 1st place in our division. Let's go Vargas! Show them Twinkies where the creme filling is! That's the stuff!
