Angels Prove To Be Too Much For M's

That's two in a row that we have lost to Joe Saunders and the Angels. Though Saunders has been the worst pitcher on the Angels staff this year, the M's make him look like an All-Star caliber pitcher. We seem to have a knack for that this season. Although our bats have been coming around, the ability to hit when it counts is still a bit rough. 3 double plays tonight to take any opportunity away that we could have had to put some runs on the board. Two of them by Chone Figgins with Ichiro aboard as he collected 3 hits in 4 at bats with an RBI and a stolen base.

Ichiro is coming closer and closer to his consecutive 200 hit seasons record with another multi-hit game. He is just a machine. Another at bat tonight in which he had multiple pitches and worked the pitch count up on Saunders. I wish that he could bottle his skill or somehow teach it to the rest of the line-up. He has a gift that I don't think anyone has ever seen before. Ichiro's style is unmatched and his stats are even more unmatched. In a 7 -1 loss to a division rival, it's safe to say one could be a little frustrated, but watching Ichiro do his thing out there really puts a smile on your face.

Snell had a rough start to this one and his walks really came back to bite him. After the first three innings he did some nice work and got into the 6th inning before handing the game over to our new and questionably improved bullpen. What was 4 -1 became 7 - 1 in the seventh after a Sean White, Cordero combo of bad bullpen work that we have seen much of lately. Oh, and against the Angels.

So, another game lost, but a number of hits, some positives, still not time to throw in the towel. Compared to every other division out there, we still have a chance at 10 games under .500.
