Welcome to the Big Leagues, Kyle Seager!!!!

Another roster move today that should put a smile on the Mariners fan's faces. The Mariners called up Kyle Seager from AAA Tacoma today. Seager has been in Tacoma for just 12 games with the Rainiers and has an impressive line. Impressive enough for Jack Z to give him a shot in a struggling M's batting order.

In 12 games Seager was batting .455 with 4 doubles, 1 triple, 2 HR & 2 RBI. 25 for 55 with a .500 OBP is more than you can ask for in your first two weeks at a higher level. It would be nice if that could continue at the MLB level too.

Seager is a second baseman who has been playing third base since coming to Tacoma. I went to the game on the 3rd of July and he didn't seem to be out of place at all, the M's front office must agree. Seager will be playing third base which means that Kennedy will have to shift to a more utility role and the DH. What does this mean for the likes of Chone Figgins and Jack Wilson? I would assume that they will be dealt to teams for little or nothing in return. Figgins is more of a touchy scenario considering the amount of money and time left on his contract. We'll have to wait and see.

Seager is a welcomed addition to the Mariners and we hope as fans for a bit more consistency from him than we have seen from Mike Wilson, Mike Carp or Carlos Peguero. It would be nice if he could have similar success to Dustin Ackley. No pressure Kyle.

Seems like a nice kid. In case anyone cares, he is not a headcase or a jerk. He signed a couple of autographs for my kid on the 3rd and did about three different signing spots throughout the pregame in Tacoma. Likable.

Good Luck Seager, we wish you the best!!!!
